PROJET COMENIUS

EUROPEAN INTEGRATION – THE LIVED EXPERIENCE

Description:

"European Integration – The Lived Experience" is the topic of the new project of the Comenius programme:

The latest project initiated by the Lycée Classique Diekirch will be a study to trace the history of European integration. Leaving the beaten track, it is conceived to find alternative ways in teaching and studying European integration history in a grassroots’ approach.
It is all about confronting teachers as well as their students with the specific approach their fellow citizens have concerning the European unification. The participants will question and consult their fellow citizens (issuing from different socio-professional categories) on the specific situation in their respective country, and on the particular way the concerned handle the subject - from the founding of the community to the latest enlargement of the EU.
The students will use local publications not accessible to their partners due to the language problem. They will have the possibility to put into practice ‘oral history’ while judiciously choosing contributors, pertinent because of their historic role in politics, economics, the social sector or other. The present study’s result is bound to be published on the Internet as well as in an illustrated book.
